What if you could still build science ships and construction ships, but they don't have FTL, you can still go through hyperlanes but it takes a really long time (like a year). But starting the game at a severe disadvantage with the high possibility you won't be able to do anything at all. Getting a bad RNG start in your game is one thing, as you are generally on par with the other empires around you from the get go. There are just too many issues/downsides with an Origin start like this. I'm sorry but this has been suggested many times and the answer is always going to be a No. Ĭongrats you are now in anywhere from 2275-2350 in terms of game time, ridiculously behind every AI Empire in every aspect.

Oh, and you'd still need to wait even more time before you become a full fledged empire.

Plus you'd be so far behind tech wise that it isn't even funny. That is 50-100 years of unchecked AI Empire expansion. Just think about that for a second, that isn't just difficult, you have effectively made the game probably unwinnable for yourself. The biggest issue with any kind of origin like this is how long it can take for a Primitve Civilization to go through to the next "Age"Įven if you started in say the Atomic Age, it will probably take you 50-100 years to get to the Early Space Age. Normal primitive empires could also work like this once they reach the industrial age. you can prevent uplifting by organizing a resistance and blowing up the observation station with a special project u receive as soon the station was build above ur worldĪll those events would theoretically allow you to enter the game as empire with multiple origins (or weaker versions of those origins) at the prize of all other empires having a headstart over you. if the other empire tries to uplift you, you will receive a lot of research and resdource benefits in order to speed you up at the prize of turning into a protectorate later if the empire builds an observation station above ur homeworld you can receive all the observation station events, but from the view of a primitive civilization if you reach spaceage later u can ask the empire to remove their outpost, if they refuse you get a special project to remove it by force But this would not mean a game over for you. If u are too slow to reach space and autoestablish ur outpost another empire might build their own outpost first and take ur system. If u fail to stop this u get a time limit and a planetary edict which grants the habitat tech and builds a small habitat with ur pops above ur soon dead homeworld. pollution and clima change threatening to turn ur planet into a acid planet. the robots on ur world rise up, turning u into a primitive machine empire u get the chance to build some robots and get the robo tech.
Failing to prevent it turns u into tombworld primitives In order to slow u down and bring more spice there would be above mentioned events, which you can migitate by paying high, low or no ressources, which gives you no risk, low risk or high risk for the event impacting ur empire.
In order to get from industrial age to pre-ftl age and finally a regular empire u would have planetary decisions for which u have to gather ressources. To balance it out you would get a third guaranteed habitable and some special event, which can change ur civics and ur start conditions. It would be one of the more difficult origins, but you should be able to become a normal empire in around 10 years after gamestart. You would even get the ability to build a small ISS above ur honeworld, which generates additional science. The primitive start origin would let you start as industrial age or pre-ftl age primitive civilization with the ability to build all primitive buildings and jobs, but without most of the startertechs, which currently only exist ingame as flavor (like "offworld construction" or "space exploration").
